Victor Benavides went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the age of 56. He was born in San Antonio, TX to Hector and Beatriz Benavides.

Victor was an avid Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs fan, and his enthusiasm for his favorite teams was infectious. He found great joy in being outdoors, especially while barbequing at the beach or the lake, where many of his happiest memories were made. Wherever he was, Victor cherished the opportunity to share good food, laughter, and meaningful moments with his family and friends.

Victor was deeply loved. His kindness, generosity, and contagious laugh will be treasured. He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.

He was preceded in death by his husband, Fred Estrada; parents, Hector and Beatriz Benavides and brother, Hector Benavides Jr.  Victor is survived by his siblings, Janie Chavez (Jerry), Leroy Benavides, Raquel Benavides, and Veronica Smith (Clayton); nieces and nephews, Hector III, Marin, Zeke, Angel, Leroy Jr., Stephon, Solomon, Emory, Leila, Vince, Marvel, and Logan; as well as other extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Thursday, July 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m.  Graveside services will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Friday, July 24th at 1:45 p.m.
