Velma G. Lopez went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the age of 58 years.  She was born in San Antonio on March 21, 1959 to Guadalupe and Raquel Laredo Garcia.  Velma enjoyed gardening, drawing, and coloring.  She is survived by her children, Ericka, George, and Jonathan Lopez; grandchildren, Jordan Castillo, Aubrey Lopez, and Jayson Mendez Jr.; brothers, Humberto (Carrie) Garcia, Edward (Veronica) Garcia; and nephew, David Garcia. A rosary will be recited at Southside Funeral Home on Friday, January 19th at 7:00 p.m.  A memorial mass will be held at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20th.
