Varnell " Mickie " McDonald went home November 24 , 2014 to be with the Lord and her heavenly family. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Florence Pittman, her brother, Jimmie Pittman, and her beloved husband, Stanley McDonald. Mickie was born in San Antonio Sept 3rd, 1924. She was a Harlandale High School graduate of 1942. Mickie and Stanley were married 50 years and raised their 2 children also in the Harlandale District. Mickey loved her family, art and the Spurs . She is survived by her son, Kenyon McDonald ( Lynda), daughter, Dee Anne Barnett (Jim); Grandaughters, Laura Lopez, Kristi Kyler and Ashleigh McDonald. Great Grandchilden , Oscar Lopez, Malcolm Lopez and McKenna Kyler. Service and Visitation will be held on friday, November 28, 2014. Visitation will be at 11:00 and the service at 12:00 noon both at SouthSide Funeral Home, 6301 S. Flores, San Antonio,Tx. 78214. Internment at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Tx. 78218. In lieu of flowers the family request donations in memory of Mickie to The Salvation Army or charity of choice.
