Monday, October 28th 2024 Susan (Diaz) Benavides of San Antonio, TX passed away peacefully surrounded by close friends and family. She was 66 years old.

Susan created joy wherever she went; she had the unique ability to make anyone laugh, always leaving a smile after every acquaintance like a special button on every lasting moment creating what felt like magic.

Susan found comfort in several ways during her time with us including her Catholic faith, seeing her two daughters flourish and most of all, she loved to break bread with her family (dessert included).

Susan was the eldest daughter in her family of five from Robstown, Texas. Preceded in death her parents Manuel S. Diaz and Josephine Diaz, and brother Jose Samuel Diaz. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin; she continued on to have a successful career in Real Estate Management and paralegal before retiring early.  She never wavered from her fearlessness of the unknown with grace and compassion; she forged her own path in the world that her daughters continue to carry on.

While Susan's family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember her in a way that honors her life with close family and friends. Her close family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Ceremony on Friday, 11/15 from 3-7pm at Southside Funeral Home in San Antonio.

Susan is survived by her two daughters Cristina and Lauren along with her siblings, Mary Bea. Roel (Anthony) & Martha Diaz and Manuel Diaz, Jr., and 8 nephews and neices.

One last cheers for our beloved Susan, she is loved, honored and remembered in all our hearts.
