Shirley Ortiz Korslund, born on July 5, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, with her family by her side.

Shirley's life was deeply rooted in San Antonio where she was born and raised. Over the decades, she built a life filled with family, tradition, and simple joys that brought meaning to each day. Her love for cooking, playing bingo and the joy of music were enduring passions that brought people together and created lasting memories.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Christopher and Jennifer; daughter-in-law Tammy; sister Stella and brother-in-law Clay; sister Celeste and Crystal; brother Jimmy Boy, and her devoted boyfriend Richard "Bobby." Shirley's legacy continues through her grandchildren Lynda, Christian, Troy, Brooks, Brittany, and Briley and great-grandchild Noelle. Each carries a part of Shirley's spirit and warmth.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Michael Korslund, son Jude, brother Andrew and sister Sylvia. Though missed dearly, their memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew them.

A funeral service to honor Shirley's life will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78209.

The service will begin at 1:45 PM with a celebration of life after the service.
