Sara L. Medina went to be with our Lord on Friday, October 6, 2023 at age of 80 years. She was born on May 31, 1943 to Epitacio R. and Juanita S. Leal. Sara was preceded in death by her parents Epitacio R. and Juanita S. Leal, brother Baby Epitacio Leal and sister Hope L. Esparza. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James N. Medina; sister, Angie Medina; brother, Joe Leal (Josie), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sara was "Madrina" to many, she and her husband James were never hesitant to take on Godchildren, who they treated as their own.

She never let anyone go without.

She worked at Brookehill Funeral Home for 35 years.

She was a lifetime member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Sara served in many ministries including: CCD, St. Vincent de Paul, Choir, Guadalupanas and the ministry of The Divine Mercy. She was always ready to help in anyway she could. Sara was a busy bee, always on the go. If she wasn't working, she was at church. Even at home you would never find her sitting around. She enjoyed gardening and caring for her many, many, many cats. She loved to cook. She made homemade stuffing for Thanksgiving and tamales and menudo for Christmas. Sara will be truly missed.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023 at Southside Funeral Home (6301 S. Flores St.) starting at 4:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12th at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church (1606 San Casimiro).  Interment will follow at Meadowlawn Memorial Park.
