Ruben M Hernandez, 63, passed away on June 15, 2022. He is survived by his son Huston, daughter Sierra, grandson Cruise and many loving friends & extended family members. Ruben was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Yolanda Sierra.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Southside Funeral Home, 6301 S Flores St, San Antonio, TX 78214. Funeral services will depart at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 23, 2022 for a church mass at St Leo the Great Catholic Church, 4415 S Flores St, San Antonio, TX 78214. Burial will follow soon after at San Fernando III Cemetery, 1735 Cupples Rd, San Antonio TX 78226.

Ruben was a simple man who enjoyed barbecuing, listening to music of all genres, ​ working on cars with his son, and catching up with friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandson whenever he could. ​

Ruben was always there to help relatives and friends in any way that he could. He was a friend to all, and he cherished all of his relationships uniquely. He was kind, gentle, and loving, and he always took an interest in the lives of the people he cared for.

From his children, a special thank you to the people at SPFM for their love and support throughout the years. He took great pride in his work, and he loved his coworkers tremendously. We thank you for the memories you have created with our father, especially during his final days.
