Roel R. Cantu, aged 68, passed away on September 29, 2024, in San Antonio, TX. Born on November 25, 1955, Roel dedicated over five years of his life to the US Army Special Forces, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism.

Roel was a beloved figure in his community, known for his love of family gatherings, his passion for fishing, and his enjoyment of barbecues. He often spent his time reminiscing with loved ones, a testament to his deep connections and the value he placed on relationships. He is survived by a loving family: his children Israel Cantu; Brenda Cantu; Laura Cantu and Joe Cantu;  Abigail Cantu and Joseph Arce; 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; his brothers Esequiel Cantu Jr. (Audelia), Eloy Cantu (Grace Cantu), Juan Cantu (Cicilia Cantu), and Noe Cantu; and his sisters Elva Cantu and Gloria Johnson. Roel was preceded in death by his parents, Esequiel Cantu and Antonia Castellano, his brother Robert Cantu, and sisters Delfina Cantu and Josepha Munoz.

Roel's life was marked by his service and his unwavering love for his family and friends. His legacy will be honored and remembered by all who knew him.
