Robert Lewis Newman was born on June 24, 1946 and died on October 24, 2025, at 79 years 4 months old. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elaine Blanchard Newman and Prentice Arthur Newman. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen Clemmons Newman.

Robert received his degree from UT in Germanic Linguistics, but decided he didn't want to do translating or teach. Since he had been interested in photography for many years, he decided to work as a camera repair technician. He worked for Havel Camera Services for many years.

After retiring from Havel, Robert served as the Minister for Pastoral Care at Baptist Temple Church until his death. Robert joined Baptist Temple Church in 1958. He sang in the choir and ensemble from his early teens until his death. He served as a deacon in the church for 40 years.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 06, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Southside Funeral Home Chapel. On Friday, November 07, 2025 a funeral service will be held at Baptist Temple Church at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow to Chapel Hill Cemetery.
