Reynaldo A.
Peralez
May 24, 1935 — Nov 16, 2020
On Monday, November 16, 2020, Reynaldo "Sonny" Arispe Peralez won the race and went to be with the Lord at the age of 85 years old. It is hard to hear of his passing considering the man he was. He was a Military Veteran, a graduate of the Latin American Bible Institute, a Pastor, a Husband, a Father, a Grandfather, a Great Grandfather, a mentor, a friend, a businessman, and so much more.
Reynaldo was born on May 24, 1935 in San Antonio, TX to Jacinto and Elena Peralez. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps 1952 and served as Military Police and as a member of the Motor Pool until 1956 when he was honorably discharged. He married Lydia Huerta on December 20, 1960. They raise three sons, Jesse, Michael, and Samuel, and a daughter Elizabeth. He received his Bachelor's degree from the Latin American Bible Institute in La Puente, California in 1972. He built, founded, Pastored San Antonio for Christ for 47 years.
Reynaldo truly was a man after God's heart. His heart was for helping people, not just some but all people. He founded a men's rehabilitation center, a prison ministry, a bible college, a food pantry, and planted several churches in Texas and in Laredo. He would not make major decisions without praying first. He is known for his obedience to God, his unmatched generosity, his straight to the point discipline and correction, and for being a giant of Faith. To his family he will be remember as the example of a God-fearing family man. He rarely said the words "I love you" but the actions, lessons taught, countless prayers and counseling, and constant reminding to pray, read your Bible, be right with God, and minister to others go to show that he loved us all more than we knew because he wants us meet the Father.
Reynaldo was preceded in death by his father, Jacinto, his mother, Elena, his brother, Andres, his brother, Abel, his sister, Alicia, and his sister, Sara. He is survived by his wife Lydia, his four children, Jesse, Michael, Elizabeth, and Samuel, his brothers, Jacinto, Ruben, and Joel, his sisters, Frances and Dora, 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
We thank you in advance for your condolences, prayers, thoughts, flowers, and donations. We are doing well because we know the life he lived and believe without a doubt he is rejoicing right now and I'm positive he heard the words "Well done good and faithful servant" You will forever be missed and we will do our best to continue the legacy you established. We will see you again. We would like to ask in his honor that you would pray for the lost and less fortunate, the city of San Antonio, for those in prison, for those in serving in the military or in some first responder capacity, and lastly for San Antonio for Christ.
Visitation will be held at San Antonio for Christ Church 343 Spaatz St.. San Antonio, Texas 78211. Reynaldo's family will be receiving visitors on Sunday, November 30, 2020 from 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 30, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at San Antonio for Christ Church with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
