Raquel Rosas Segura, born on November 10, 1940, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the age of 84. She is preceded in death by her husband, David O. Segura, her parents Gregorio Rosas and Maria Antonia De La Garza Rosas, sister Rebecca Chapa, brothers Ronel Rosas, Rodolfo Rosas, and Rolando Rosas. She is survived by her brother, Gregorio Rosas (Manuela), daughters Julia Valle (John) and Rosana Palmer (William), and sons Emilio Gonzalez (Maggie), Candelario Segura, and Antonio Segura. She was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Raquel dedicated her life to her family with unwavering love and devotion. As a nurturing and cherished housewife, she spent her days tending to her children and grandchildren with love and care, ensuring it was always a welcoming and comfortable sanctuary for all who visited her.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and commitment to family will live on through each of them, as they carry forward the values she so deeply cherished. Her advice to everyone who ever visited her was always saying "always go forward and not back" (Spanish: "siempre ir adelante y no atrás)."

Though words cannot fully capture the essence of her life, we are eternally grateful for the gift of Raquel and the profound impact she has had on all who knew her. Her legacy will continue to shine brightly in our hearts and her spirit will remain with us always.

A visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Services will conclude at the church.
