On June 27, 2020, our beloved father and grandfather was called to the lord at the age of 81, after a heroic 5-year battle with cancer. Primitivo Bencomo Rodriguez was born on June 9, 1939 in Guadalupe County, Texas to Meliton Rodriguez and Maria Bencomo.

Primitivo spent the early years of his life as a migrant worker where he traveled to Michigan, Arizona, Florida and Wisconsin, where he met his wife Virginia. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family was everything to him and he will be deeply missed. He will be remembered as a hard worker, a humble, kind and simple man.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Meliton and Maria Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia; children, Augustine (Mari), Rosendo, Virginia, and Primitivo Jr.; grandchildren, Kimberly (Joey), Matthew (Katherine), Olivia and Sophia; great-grandchildren, Sienna, Noah, Matthew and Rhylee; brother, Ramon; and numerous family members.

Visitation begins Sunday, July 5, 2020 from 5-9 P.M. with a Holy Rosary at 7 P.M. at Southside Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 6, 2020at 10 A.M. at Southside Funeral Home. Funeral services will depart the funeral home soon after internment to follow at Mission Burial Park South.
