Oscar F. Martinez went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the age of 72 years. He enjoyed playing baseball, and spending time with his family. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Aguirre and Maria L. Martinez. He is survived by his wife, Frances T. Pacheco of 25 years of marriage; daughters Norma (Mario) Cantu, Annette Martinez; Step-Daughters, Gloria Ann Fivel, Patricia Marie (Richard) Garza; two grandchildren, Andrea and Mark Ortiz, five step grandchildren, Edward J. (April) Fivel, Jr., Catherine Marie (Jesus) Lara, Analise Hernandez, Micaela Garza, Ezequiel Garza; four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 15th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 16th for a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery.
