Olga Salinas Mares, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 7, 2026 at the age of 73 years.  She was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 4, 1953 to Frank and Rachel Vasquez Salinas.  Olga was very involved with Religious Education and the Food Pantry at St. Patrick Catholic Church.  She was a very devoted and loving grandmother to her grandsons.  Olga was preceded in death by her husband, Onofre Mares in 1991; her mother, Rachel Ovalle and siblings, Delia and Terry.  She is survived by her daughter, Monica Cortez and husband, William; grandsons, David and Christian Cortez; husband, Marcos Fortuna Jr.; father, Frank Salinas; siblings, Frank, Stella and Diana; also numerous nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Monday, August 17th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will depart Southside Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m., on Tuesday, August 18th, for a 10:00 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South.
