SSG Michael Wayne Rennspies, US Army, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the age of 28 years.  He was born in New Braunfels, TX on May 3, 1987 to Alan J. and Michele Desselle Rennspies.  Michael was very proud to serve his country.  He loved to fish, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed dancing.  Michael was preceded in death by his father, Alan Rennspies; grandparents, Lad and Irma Lou Desselle, brother, David Holt; and cousin, Jeff Barnett.  He is survived by his wife, Maxine Montalbo Rennspies; mother and step-father, Michele and Fred Chapman; brothers, Scott Rennspies and wife Lysett, Zachary Chapman; grandfather, Fred Chapman Sr.; niece, Isabella Rennspies; also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Southside Funeral Home. Funeral services will resume on Friday, January 29th at 10:00 a.m. at Southside Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 12:00 noon.
