Mattie Elizabeth Nelson entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the age of 87 years.  She was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 8, 1933 to William and Mattie Cahoon.  Mattie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Miller.  She is survived by her children, Patricia Villarreal and husband Frank, William Nelson, David Nelson, Charles Nelson, Paul Nelson and wife Rosemary; grandchildren, Brittany Villarreal and Rebecca Higdon; two great grandchildren; sister, Alice Chapman and husband Ralph; and two nieces.  Visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 7th beginning at 11:00 a.m., with a Rosary to be recited, followed by services to begin at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South.
