Mary Louise Ponce went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the age of 77 years. She was a very spiritual woman who enjoyed shopping at Ross and the Thrift Shops, dancing, singing, and spending time with her family. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her brother and sisters, Rafael, Lupe, Estella, Minnie, and Dora. She is survived by her children, Herman Michael Martinez Sr. and wife Edna, Carlos Ponce and wife Vernell, and DiAnne Garza and husband Rudy Miles; sisters and brothers, Margie, Betty, Martin, and Steve; grandchildren, Herman M. Martinez Jr., Kimberly Martinez, and Eric Martinez; great grandchildren, Sebastian Martinez and McKenzie Martinez; also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Visitation will be held at the Southside Funeral Home on Sunday, April 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 7th for mass to be celebrated at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in San Jose Burial Park.
