Mary Julia Drake, born to Hilario and Paulita Garza, went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2016 at the age of 70. Mary loved to bake and enjoyed crafts and sewing. She also loved sharing fruit from her fruit trees. Mary is survived by her children, William Drake, June Rodriguez, Rachel Ferrel, and Caroline Gonzales; siblings, Rudy Garza, Robert Garza, and Christina Torres; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Jill; parents, Hilario and Paulita Garza; sisters, Aurora and Pauline; and two grandchildren, Victor and Jacob. Visitation for Mary will begin on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Southside Funeral Home. Services will conclude in the chapel.
