Mary C. Martinez went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the age of 89 years. She was born in San Antonio on April 15, 1928 to Lorenzo and Augustina Carrasco. Mary enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She loved being a grandma and helping to raise her grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Irma Martinez and son, Rudy Martinez. She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Vencelao; children, Luis Martinez, Jimmy (Lupe) Martinez, Alfredo Martinez; also numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 20th for a 10:00 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery.
