Maria Elena R. Garza passed away quietly in her San Antonio home on January 9, 2015. She was 78 years old. She was born in Eagle Pass, Texas on August 2, 1936, to Roberto and Pomposa Riojas. She married Ernesto A. Garza in 1955 and was preceded in death by her "Darling" in 2000. They were married 46 years. She is survived by five sons Ernesto, Leonardo, Eddie, Luis, Roberto Garza; three daughters; Patricia Sanchez, Sara Ann Olivarez, Mary Esther Garza. Mary Elena is also survived by her four brothers; Fernando, Roberto, Manuel, Frank Riojas; two sisters, Esperanza Gonzales and Armandina Barrera; 33 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be at the Southside Funeral Home on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 4:00-7pm. Rosary will follow from 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10am. Interment will follow at the Mission Park Cemetery at 11:00am.
