Maria del Carmen Ortiz went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the age of 83 years. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, and having family gatherings. She is survived by her sons, Saul Fabela, Jesus A. Fabela and wife Maria Bibiana, Samuel Fabela and wife Maria Elisa, and Jorge Fabela and wife Maria Dolores; daughters, Elvira Catalina Fabela and husband Daniel Rivera and Rosa Carmen Reyes and husband Jose Reyes; sisters, Petra Solano Revino, Refugio Solano de Garza, Hortencia Solano Garcia, and Manuela Solano Soliz; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 15th from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16th at the Southside Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in San Jose Burial Park.
