Margarita Escobar Ramirez, age 89, devoted, dedicated, and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on August 27, 2016 with her family by her side.  She was born to Merced and Pilar Escobar on September 12, 1926 in Pearsall, Texas.   She was preceded in death by her husband Marin Ramirez, sons, Conrado Ramirez Sr., Ramiro Ramirez, Sr., sisters, Manuela Tamez, Juanita Garcia; brothers, Mateo and Menno Escobar.  Margarita is survived by her daughter, Pilar Ramirez and husband Hector; grandchildren, Hector Ramirez Jr. (Rosario), Annette Sanchez (Alfredo), Ramiro Ramirez Jr. (Rachel), Melissa Pena (Anthony), Jessica Ramirez (Pete), Conrad Ramirez, and Audrey Perez; twenty-one great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Teresa and Betty Ramirez; also numerous nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Thursday, September 1st from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 2nd for a 10:00 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at St. Clare's Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in First Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family wishes to thank the staff of Alamo Hospice: Samantha Nuncio RN, Lisa Foerster, Social Worker, Patty Rebmann and Michelle Montoya, Providers.
