Manuel E. Delgado's Obituary
Manuel E. Delgado went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the age of 85 years. He served in the USAF during the Korean War. Manuel was a descendant of the defender Gregorio Esparza, of the Alamo. He was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed doing mechanic, air conditioning, and refrigeration work. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Balvina Delgado; son, Joseph R. Delgado, also numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Eleanor J. Delgado; children, Candy (Ray) Moreno, Mary Ann Peterson, Miguel (Jennifer) Delgado, Rose Ochoa, Wally (Petra) Delgado, Greg (Anna) Delgado, Elizabeth Pons, Balvina (Gabriel) Suarez; sister, Patsy Hinojosa; 32 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Southside Funereal Home Thursday, June 7th from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will depart the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. on Friday, June 8th for Mass to celebrated at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church at 9:45 a.m. Interment will follow in El Carmen Catholic Cemetery.
