Our beloved mom, Lupita Chaires Mireles, 73, died on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 after
a hard fought battle with cancer.

Lupita was born on December 17, 1950 to Elias and Elisa Chaires in Celaya
Guanajuato, Mexico. She and her family moved to Laredo, TX where she attended
Martin High School. After graduation, she went on to study nursing at the
University of the Incarnate Word where she met Guadalupe "Luis" Mireles. They
were married in San Antonio, TX on December 29, 1973. They had four children,
Lucinda, Angelica, Anna, and Cristina. Lupita loved her family dearly. She enjoyed
spending time with her grandchildren Adrea, Reana, Aleryk, Brennan, and
Grayson as well as her great-grandson Maddix. She loved going on fun
adventures with them all over town.

Lupita enjoyed her career with the Harlandale Independent School District and
retired after 23 years of service to spend time with her grandchildren.
Lupita was preceded in death by her daughter Lucinda Mireles, parents Elias
and Elisa Chaires, mother-in-law Simona Mireles and brother-in-law Edwardo
"Walo" Mireles. She is survived by her husband, Guadalupe "Luis" Mireles, children
Angelica Mireles, Anna Prieto and Cristina Mireles as well as her grandchildren,
great-grandchild, and numerous siblings.

A memorial service will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Friday, May 3, 2024
at 6 PM. To honor our mom's request, please wear colorful attire to her memorial
service.
