Katie B. Gil, 81, passed away on December 22, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas.

Katie was born in Uvalde, Texas to Leon and Ruby Peoples on November 26, 1936.

Katie is preceded in death by her Parents Leon and Ruby Peoples, ex-Husband Charles Gates, Sr, Brother Claude Riley Peoples and Sister Valley Riley.

Katie is survived by her Husband Jesse Gil; Children Charlie Gates, Jr (Pauline), Ruby Cantu (Pete), John Gates, Stephanie Gates (Gary) and Karen Gates; Brothers Leon Roy Peoples, Lonnie Joe Peoples and Bobby Ray Peoples and Sister Sevella Mae Webb; Grandchildren Lisa, Charles, III, Brandon, Stacy, Daniel, Donny, John Jr, Samantha, Joseph, Elizabeth, Charles and Frankie; 14 great-Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at Southside Funeral Home, 6301 South Flores Street, San Antonio, Texas 78214 with a Prayer Service to be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Southside Funeral Home. Funeral procession will depart the funeral home immediately after the service. Burial will follow at San Jose Burial Park. Arrangements are entrusted to Southside Funeral Home.
