Jose Francisco Salazar, Sr. entered into eternal rest On Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the age of 79.  He was born in San Antonio on January 29, 1947 to Ciriaco and Maria Salazar.  Jose was a very proud veteran of the United States Army.  He loved singing, playing the moracca's and was an excellent dancer.  Jose was an employee of the San Antonio Water System for 25 years.  He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Eva M. Salazar; children, Tony Guevara (Hortencia), Richard Guevara, Jose Francisco Salazar, Jr. (Diana), Helen Colunga, Lydia Ramos-Munoz (Samuel); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, MaryLou Cantu, Paula Lara (Jimmy); also several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 12th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will depart the funeral home at 9:00 a.m., on Thursday, August 13th for Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
