Obituary

Jose C. Rodriguez Jr. was born in San Antonio on Nov 10, 1941, and passed on March 23, 2023, at the age of 81.  Jose was united with God after a long joyous life.  He was a remarkable and loving son, brother, friend, and husband.  His biggest contribution throughout his life was his ability to spread Joy to others in need of an uplift in their life.  He was the oldest of 5 brothers and he at times fulfilled and demonstrated the critical role of a father figure, so his brothers could benefit from his knowledge/wisdom.  His brothers experienced joyful holidays, birthday, and numerous other events due to Jose's ability to uplift everyone's spirits through countless selfless acts of love.

Jose flawlessly performed the duties as a Court Clerk for the Bexar County Courts for over 20 years and made countless friends during his career within the San Antonio court systems.

Jose was continuously involved in numerous community activities that supported local arts, festivals, and musical venues.  He was well known for his ability to host parties throughout the years, so local artists, community members, and friends could gather and share fellowship experiences and laughter.  One of his most elaborate events was hosting his yearly Oscars Party.  His party planning and hosting skills were exercised during key holiday seasons (Thanksgiving, Easter, Christmas, and New Year's Eve) and his Monte Vista neighborhood was able to experience the joyous activities from these social galas.  He was always joined by his spouse (Ronald Soele) as they continued their long life together as a loving couple.

During Jose's final few months, he was supported by his lifelong friendships, neighbors, and family members as they all provided Jose's the much-needed joyfulness that Jose had always provided them throughout his lifetime.  Jose was excited to see such loving examples of human kindness whenever a friend, neighbor, or family member visited him during the latter days of his life.

Jose was preceded in death by his spouse (Ronald Soele) parents, and brother (Hector).

Jose is survived by his brothers; Edward (Delia), Daniel, and William (Elsa); numerous nieces and nephews (Michael, Diana, Anthony, Angela, Audrey, Ryan, Meghan, Zachary and Athena) and sister-in-law (Sara).
