Jose Maria Garcia, 90, of San Antonio, Texas, was born September 12, 1929, and passed away peacefully on October 11, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. A viewing will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Thursday, October 17, 2019, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Procession will depart from Southside Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2019 for a 10:00 a.m. mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III. Jose is preceded in death by his wife, Maria de la Luz Cortinas Garcia; parents; Manuel Garcia and Altagracia Colunga Garcia; children, Maria Socorro Garcia; brother, Adan Garcia; sister, Eva Garcia. He is survived by his loving children; Alfonso Garcia (Amparo Siller), Teresa Martinez, Gerardo Garcia (Cindy), Rosalinda Garcia, Martin Garcia (Mary), Jose Juan Garcia, Father Jesse Garcia, Anna Maria Garcia and Pablo Manuel Garcia; brother in law, Jesse Cortinas and wife Pauline; 23 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other loved ones. Jose was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend with a heart of gold who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to  St. John Berchman Catholic Church.
