Jose A. Garcia went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the age of 78 years. He was very involved with his church and the schools that his children attended. Jose enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria G. Mendez; son, Tony Garcia; and sister, Josefina Mendoza. Jose is survived by his wife, Socorro; sons, Joe, Jr., Martin, Javier, David, John, and Daniel Garcia; daughter, Veronica Garcia; eighteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 1st from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will depart the funeral home Thursday, October 2nd at 10:30 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. mass at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with burial to follow at Meadowlawn Memorial Park.
