Joe Martinez Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the age of 69 years.  He was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 5, 1947 to Jose and Maria Martinez.  Joe is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Rachel Martinez; children, Robert Rodriguez, Michael Paez (Angelica), Jennifer Martinez (Arthur), Joe Martinez, Eddie Martinez, Andrew Martinez, Rita Danes, Elizabeth Martinez, Margie Martinez; brothers, Manuel, Ernest, and Armando Martinez; sisters, Rosie Diaz, Maria Rivas; ten grandchildren.  A memorial mass will be held for Joe at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church on Friday, January 27th at 8:30 a.m.  Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 9:45 a.m.
