Jesse R. Edwards, born to Melvin D. Edwards and Betty Magee, passed away on September 16, 2015 at the age of 54. He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother Jeanette Edwards as well as his nephew Tim Smith. Jesse is survived by his mother Betty Akin; siblings Bret Edwards (Joyce), Mel Batey (Rose), Valerie Smith (Richard) and Kathleen Woodruff. He is also survived by his son Thomas Edwards along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Jesse will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Jesse enjoyed barbecuing, fishing at the coast and attending swap meets and auctions. His family will be receiving visitors on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 4pm to 9pm at the Southside Funeral Home Chapel at 6301 S. Flores St., San Antonio, TX. On Thursday, September 24, family and friends will gather at San Jose Burial Park in San Antonio, TX for a graveside service at 10am.
