Jerry M. Zapata entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 29, 2023 at the age of 70 years. He was born on August 12, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas to Gombert and Helen Zapata. He loved music and singing. He liked to play the guitar and keyboard. Was fascinated by ufo's and aliens. Jerry was preceded in death by his Parents Gombert and Helen Zapata; Brother Michael M. Zapata.  He is survived by his Wife of Forty-Five years Frances Zapata; Brothers Gombert Zapata Jr., Thomas Zapata (Bryan); Sister Consuelo Holt (Heath); Close Cousin Cidelia Villegas (Oscar). Several Nieces and Nephews and his loving cat Peek-a-boo. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Southside Funeral Home, 6301 S. Flores St., San Antonio, Texas 78214 with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will depart Southside Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. for a Funeral Mass to be held at San Jose Mission Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Interment to follow at San Jose Burial Park.
