Obituary

Jane Vollmer went to be with the Lord February 1, 2023, at the age of 88. She was born in San Antonio to Allan and Margie Mitchell and married Vernon Vollmer upon graduation from Providence High School in 1953. Vernon preceded her in death after 65 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Allan Mitchell, Jr.

Jane had a 24-year career working at the Bexar County Courthouse and retired as a District Court Clerk in 1994. She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for over 45 years and participated in the choir, the Altar Society, and ACTS retreats. She and Vernon also supported Blessed Sacrament School. Her most cherished role, though, was being Mom to her six children, and Grandma Jane to her 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Jane enjoyed vegetable gardening, swimming, camping, anniversary trips to Las Vegas, and family coast trips. She played and enjoyed watching all types of sports, and liked playing games with family including Yahtzee, Pitch, LCR, and dominoes.

Jane is survived by her children Vern, Jr. (Grace Pauley), Janette (husband Jim Agnew), Joanne, Jeanene (husband Art Campsey), Jeff (wife Cynthia), and Jim (wife Teri). She is also survived by her sister, Judy Camarigg, her brother, Wayne Mitchell (wife Anne), many nieces and nephews including Doug and Rodney Vollmer that knew her as Aunt Jane, as well as by numerous cousins of her late husband Vernon.

The family would like to thank friends and staff at Waterford on Huebner Retirement Center, All Care Home Health, and DaVita Dialysis Center on Medical Drive for their care and friendship. They extend sincere gratitude to Father Chris Munoz, Blessed Sacrament Church Pastor, for his spiritual care and kind attention to Jane.
