James T. Cañedo entered into Heaven on Saturday, December 10, 2017 at the age of 95. He was born to Santiago and Magdalena Cañedo on July 14, 1921 in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Guadalupe Espinoza Cañedo and his children Yolanda Cañedo Tello, Robert Cañedo, Juliet Cañedo, Joel Cañedo, Ronald Cañedo, David Cañedo, Grace Cañedo, Debbie Cañedo Warnelis and Martin Cañedo. James was also blessed with sixteen grand children and twenty-four great grand children as well as numerous extended family members. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known him, yet are comforted in knowing he is now in the loving embrace of our Lord.

Visitation will be held at Southside Fuenral Home on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 5pm-9pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7pm. A funeral mass is currently pending for Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Mission San Jose Church with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery where Military Honors will be rendered.
