Israel Gomez Casias went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the age of 56 years. He served honorably in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany for three years. He enjoyed fishing and bar b queuing with his family. He also loved watching the Cowboys and Longhorns. He is preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Lavaughn Casias and grandparents Francisco & Demetria Casias and Julio & Candelaria Gomez. He is survived by his parents Domingo & Petra Casias, his siblings Frank (Audrey), Senaida (George), Irma, Theresa (Bo), Jorge, and Albert (Dalia). He is also survived by his sons Israel Domingo Casias, Joe Horner, daughters Lisa Horner, Lora Cox, grandchildren Joseph, Melissa, Miles, Jeremy, Haley, Lucas, Ethan, and Benjamin. He also has numerous great grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces. Visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 for a 11:30 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at El Carmen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
