Gloria Espinoza Zapata went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the age of 77 years. She was born on February 11, 1937 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Isidoro and Maria Espinoza. Gloria enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Isidoro Zapata; her parents, and brother, Reyes "Wero" Aguilar. Gloria is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Cresencio Zapata; children, Juan Zapata, Jesus Zapata and wife Elvira, Oscar Zapata and wife Griselda, Maria Mendoza, Marta Ramos and husband Michael, Julian Zapata, Graciela Espinoza, Valdemar Zapata and wife Aricela, and Gabina Galdamez; sisters, Fernanda Hernandez, Graciela Aguilar, and Alejandra Aguilar; brother, Juan Aguilar; thirty-eight grandchildren, fifty-nine great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. Visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 8th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 9th at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Mission Burial Park South.
