Geraldine Josephine Southern, age 97, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014. She was born in San Antonio on May 14, 1917 to parents, Alma and Frank Weissler. Gerri had a long career with the San Antonio Light newspaper, rising to become the President of the Light Credit Union. She is survived by her son, Jud Walford and wife, Mary Walford; brother, Gilbert Weissler; sister-in-law, Patsy Weissler; grandchildren, Cheryl Brown, Jud Walford, Jr., Jennifer Thompson, and Jonathan Walford; ten great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
