We found ourselves blessed to learn many valuable lessons from the man we called husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was the first to lend a hand without ever being asked, never expecting anything in return, and never leaving until the job was done.

He married his high school sweetheart Linda. They were together for 60 wonderful years. They had three children: Catherine, Gerald and Stephanie. Later, he came to be known as Paw-Paw by his grandchildren: Ivan III and Lindsay. All of his grateful family members were blessed with his eternal love.

He retired from CPS after 35 years of service, but he never slowed down. He continued to take care of his family, and he helped his friends and neighbors with projects. Also, in retirement, he finally found time to rebuild his 1932 Ford Coupe, a car he still owned from his teenage years.

Before his passing, he laid to rest his father, Louis Otto Fischer, his mother, Telka Irma (Wahl) Fischer, one brother, one sister, and his only son.
