Freddy Lee Eckhardt, 82, passed away on February 11, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas.

Freddy was born in San Antonio, Texas to Theodore and Maude Eckhardt on December 8, 1936. Freddy was a volunteer firefighter and entrepreneur. He was an avid golfer and loved life. He loved his cats. He was a kind man, a good friend and a better neighbor. He took care of all his neighbors, always checking to see if everyone was okay. He will be missed by all.

Freddy is preceded in death by his Parents Theodore and Maude Eckhardt, Brother Theodore Eckhardt, Jr, and Sister Theresa Ann Earl.

Freddy is survived by his numerous nieces and nephews and his loving neighbors and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Southside Funeral Home, 6301 South Flores Street, San Antonio, Texas 78214 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Friends are asked to meet at Church on Friday, February 16, 2018 for a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Leo's the Great Catholic Church with burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.

The friends of Freddy wish to extend sincere thanks to caregivers and staff at Kindred Hospice for the care they provided in Freddy's final days.
