Eva H. Serenil, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at the age of 89 years.  She was born in San Antonio, Texas on August 12, 1937 to Domingo and Lucia Huerta.  Eva enjoyed listening to music.  She loved attending bar-b-que gatherings with her family.  Above all, Eva, loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose F. Serenil; grandson, Joe Serenil Salazar III; parents, Domingo and Lucia Huerta; sisters, Carmen and Josie and her twin brother, Adam.  Eva is survived by her daughters, Mary Jo Macias (Daniel), Mary Jane Salazar (Joe), Esmeralda Trevino (Juan); grandchildren, Melissa, Celsa, Jacob, Eva, Jerry, Daniel, Miranda, Amanda, Daniella and Armando; also numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Thursday, September 10th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., on Friday, September 11th, for Mass to be celebrated at St. Leo's Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in San Jose Burial Park.
