Esther T. Alegria entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the age of 90 years. Esther loved to cook, she was famous for her popcorn balls and gorditas. Her greatest joy was to take care of family and grandchildren. She was a generous person loved working with children at Harlandale Baptist Church and Adams Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her Husband Jesus F. Alegria; Son Jose C. Alegria; Sister Teresa Gutierrez. Esther is survived by her Children Maribel A. Salazar, Dolores (Damian) Galish, Melissa Marroquin, Jesse Alegria, James (Rosie) Alegria; Grandchildren Bryan, Tina, Joseph, Alexandria (Steven), Ryan, Andrew (Elizabeth), Vincent (Jeanette), Joshua, Hilary, Justin, Heather, Sabrina; Thirteen Great-Grandchildren; Sisters Elena Gutierrez, Josefina (Eugenio) Castro. Numerous Family and Friends. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Southside Funeral Home, 6301 S. Flores St., San Antonio, Texas 78214 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will depart Southside Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2022 for a Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery .
