Elia C. Sanchez entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at the age of 84 years. Elia was a member of Canary Island Descendant's. She loved gardening love roses, reading especially mysteries, arts and crafts, loved the ocean ( loved to spend time at the beach), loved to watch Hallmark Channel and HGTV and she was a great talker would make friends and family with everyone but she especially loved being with her family and friends. She was our own "Sophia" from the Golden Girls. Affectionately went by Elia, Mommy, Mama Elia, Little Lady, and "Sophia". She was preceded in death by her parents Felix and Herminia Casillas Sr.; sisters and brother. Elia is survived by her husband Rosendo Sanchez of 49 years of marriage; daughter Angela Farias (David); granddaughter Analisa Christine Farias. Numerous nieces, nephews and adoptive extended families. Memorial Service will be held at Southside Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Fort Sam Houston Natoinal Cemetery at 1:15 p.m.
