Obituary

Armando Mora Jr., 71, passed away peacefully at home on June 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He was surrounded by the love of his family during his final moments.

Armando was born on June 19, 1955, in San Antonio, Texas, to Armando Mora Sr. and Bertha Mora. He spent most of his childhood in San Antonio and also lived in Laredo, Texas, where he made many cherished memories.

On May 3, 1980, Armando married the love of his life, Martha Mora. Together they shared 46 wonderful years of marriage, celebrating their anniversary just weeks before his passing. Together they built a loving family and were blessed with two children, four grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters.

Family was the center of Armando's life. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren and took great joy in watching them grow. He loved gathering everyone together for backyard barbecues, cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys every Sunday, and creating lasting memories with those he loved. Win or lose, he remained a loyal Cowboys fan through every season.

Armando was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent his life providing for his family. His career took him and Martha to Atlanta, Georgia, where they lived for several years. Throughout his working years, he was employed by VIA Metropolitan Transit and, earlier in life, worked as a cook at Jim's Restaurants. No matter where he worked, he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and devotion to those he loved.

Armando is survived by his devoted wife, Martha Mora; his sister, Diane Downing and husband Kyle; his son, Armando Mora III and wife Jessica; his daughter, Genesis Almaguer and husband Arturo Almaguer Sr.; his cherished grandchildren, Arturo Almaguer Jr., Gianna Almaguer, Armando Lee Mora, and Max Ezekiel Mora; his beloved great-granddaughters, Bambi and Tatum Almaguer; as well as numerous aunt's, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Armando Mora Sr. and Bertha Mora, and his brother, David Mora.

Armando will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his strength, his dedication, and the kindness he showed to everyone who knew him. Although he will be deeply missed, his love, laughter, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
