Alma Elise Vogel Floyd passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 4, 2022, just three weeks shy of her 95 ^th birthday.  She is now resting in the arms of Jesus.  Alma was born in Santa Barbara, California on July 25, 1927 to Alfred and Dora Ahlers Vogel.  On May 26, 1947, she married Harold Forest Floyd and the couple then moved to San Antonio, Texas, where she lived for seventy-five years.  Alma was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother Robert Vogel, her daughter Judy & Ed Winston III, and her great grandson Nicolas Mabie.  Alma will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.  She is survived by son John & Pam Floyd, daughters Elyse & Roger Ross, Nancy & Steve Mabie, Darla & Randy Smart Sr., Gaylene & Roy Tenney, and Paula Floyd, 18 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Our hearts are broken, but we know she is now at peace, sitting in His kingdom at the feet of Jesus.  Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, July 26, from 6:00-8:00 at Southside Funeral Home.  Graveside services will take place at 10:15 Wednesday morning, July 27, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery shelter #2.  In lieu of flowers please make donations in Alma's name to San Antonio Genealogical & Historical Society, Children's Hospital of San Antonio or a charity of your choice.
