Alfred "Shorty" T. Wright went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the age of 81 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Thelma Wright; sister and brother-in-law, Ludie Marie "Cookie" and Jackie Arthur; brothers, Walter and Jimmie Wright; and niece Thelma Wright. Shorty is survived by his wife, Barbara Wright; daughter, Melonie and Philip Syma (Sarah and Michelle); son, Bill and Janet Wright (Jason and Trey); daughter, Laurie and Tommy Baird (Tommy Jr, Tyler, Tiffany and Tina); daughter, Jo Beth and Larry Buffalo (Scotty, Kristina and Wyatt); brother, Norman and Bonnie Wright; sisters, Carolyn and Keith Bullard, Janie Griffin; sisters-in-law, Billie June Le Stourgeon (Warner Langford), Linda Goode, Carol Wright, and Joyce Wright; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 30th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31st at Oak Island United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Oak Island Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are current and past employees of Thad Ziegler Glass Company The family would like to thank Sharron Lopez for her care and support of dad during his illness.
